The first National Working Families Survey was launched earlier this month (July 2019).

Through a short survey, it asks parents and childcare providers to provide information about how the Australian workplace could become more family-friendly and achieve greater gender equality with regards to childcare responsibilities.

The study is accepting responses from Australian parents and childcare providers. Parents with a child under the age of 18, as well as any childcare professionals who spend a significant amount of time caring for children are urged to spend 10 minutes submitting a response.

Ultimately the study will arm Australia’s decision-makers with informative data. It will help inform future policies that aim to create a workplace that is conducive to working parents, male and female.

Have your say. Spend 10 minutes Making the Australian workforce work for parents and childcare providers:

  • Describe to what extent you manage to balance work and family responsibilities.
  • Review how current policies help or hinder you from achieving work-family balance.
  • Identify problem areas that could be improved or need extra funding.
