About our centre

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Tallai is located in the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland. We pride ourselves on the natural woodland setting that surrounds our centre, and we are only a short walk to Mudgeeraba State School and a five minute drive to the local shops, Robina Town Centre, M1 and the train station.

Goodstart Tallai is a family focused learning facility. We believe community connections and lasting relationships are paramount. The centre has been established in the area for the past 18 years and it has developed an outstanding reputation. We are also well known and recognised by community leaders.

Our centre caters for children from 6 weeks to 5 years – with groups from Nursery to Kindergarten – and we are an inclusive centre with a team who prides itself on providing high quality education to all children in our care. Our centre works closely with a number of external agencies. All of our learning programs are aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines.

Goodstart Early Learning Tallai has a high number of long serving and well qualified educators who have spent 15 years and longer working at the centre. We pride ourselves on the maturity and experience that our educators offer, with two early learning teachers on site and the remainder of our educators holding their Diploma or Certificate 3 in early childhood services.

At the centre we have a number of different communication channels that parents can access including email, newsletters and parent forums. However, what's most important to us is the face to face open and honest communication we have with each and every family as they enter and depart the centre each day.

Goodstart Early Learning Tallai offers beautiful natural playgrounds that are full of interesting and exciting elements that the children can explore and discover. We offer creative and educational programs as well as morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and nappies for children under 2 years of age.

Leona Gordon

Centre Director

Hello, my name is Leona Gordon and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Tallai.

I have been involved in the Early Learning Sector since August 2000 where I originally took on employment to fit in with my then, three young children. This led to a passion for ‘learning’ and ‘teaching’ where through my studies of the ‘Early Years Learning Framework’ I began to understand the importance of the first five years in setting strong foundations for learning and life!

I have had the privilege to work with all age groups and have been a Centre Director since December 2020. I love the opportunities offered by Goodstart to continue to learn and motivate others to learn.

I have three adult children and one young grandson and believe that if children are given the support and security to learn in a happy and loving environment, they will become an effective and valued member of society.

I believe that children learn from the minute they are born. They learn from their environment, their experiences, their feelings, and their interactions with the world around them! I believe in the importance of establishing secure respectful relationships and have a strong commitment to developing partnerships with all our families…feel free to call in to say hi, my door is always open!
