About Ruby & Ollie's All Abilities Childcare
Ruby & Ollies evolved from a vision back in 2012 when Rebecca saw a great need for an inclusive childcare environment which not only supported children with a disability, but siblings and parents/caregivers also. From here, Hummingbirds Early Intervention and Education Service was born. In 2013 Rebecca opened the doors of her own home to support families needing such a nurturing, understanding and supportive service.
In 2014 the journey began to bloom and she met Leah James who joined forces to establish a Centre Based serviced, which was re-named to Ruby & Ollie’s All Abilities Childcare Service.
The story all began through the journey with two very special children, Ruby and Ollie who both have diverse developmental challenges.
Upon this realisation Leah and Rebecca began to consider, that if they had trouble finding suitable childcare for their own children, surely other parents and caregivers were in our situation too? With this, they set off to do research into how we might be the ones to go about setting up ‘the place’ that provide appropriate care for these special children.
