About Bankstown Childcare Academy
At Bankstown Childcare Academy we will endeavour to develop each child's self-image, autonomy, self-belief and confidence by fostering their self-esteem, self-discipline and sense of responsibility, through positive interaction and encouraging learning in a safe environment.
We will use educational practices to instruct and evaluate each child as individuals and as a group, using the learning outcomes from EYLF (Early Years Learning Framework) . Our aim is for each child to celebrate his/her separate identity, yet still, be able to work and contributes constructively within a large group. We will review and reflect regularly ourselves as educators and evaluate our ideas, and our practices against the EYLF practices and principles.
Accepting and embracing the diversity of our families, we respect and acknowledge their cultural beliefs and practices. At Bankstown Childcare Academy, our aim is to build a strong relationship with our families, to make them feel welcome, give them a sense of belonging, encourage them to be part of our extended family, and to acknowledge and respect they are the primary educators of their children.
The seven quality areas of the National Framework guide us in ensuring that we are meeting the needs not only of the children but of the families, the educators and the community as a whole.
We create the safest service for children, families and visitors.
We agree with the Council of Australian Governments’ vision that:
“All children have the best start in life to create a better future for themselves and for the nation.”
And we are "committed to closing the gap” in educational achievement between Indigenous and Non- Indigenous Australians within a decade."
We take on this challenge the Government has set in our service as we know early childhood education has a critical role to play in delivering this outcome
